Eagle Farm Racecourse
There will be road closures in place for the upcoming race days at Eagle Farm Racecourse as part of the 2024 Spring Racing Carnival. Road closures include:
Saturday, 2 November 2024 (Derby Raceday)
- McGill Ave
- Lancaster Road (from Charlton St to Racecourse Rd). Access for residents and local business owners will be facilitated when required.
- Closures effective from 8am – approximately 7pm
Tuesday, 5 November 2024 (Melbourne Cup Raceday)
- McGill Ave
- Lancaster Road (from Charlton St to Racecourse Rd). Access for residents and local business owners will be facilitated when required.
- Closures effective from 7am – approximately 7pm
JTS Traffic Controllers will be on site to conduct these closures. The BRC will also ensure that Security and cleaners have patrols around the surrounding streets and at the train station before, during and after the event.
There will be amplified music prior to gates open for sound checks starting at 8am and during the day until approximately 8pm when the event concludes. All music will be played within the noise restrictions of BRC’s liquor licence.

Doomben Racecourse
The Brisbane Racing Club will be hosting its annual 2024 Spring Carnival Raceday (Cox Plate Raceday) on Saturday, 26th October 2024 at Doomben Racecourse. There will be road closures in place. The roads will be closed from 8.00am – approx. 7.00pm.
Road closures include:
- Hampden Street will be under Traffic Management with Stop/Go Traffic Controllers.
- Hopetoun Street will be closed for through traffic. Resident’s and their guests will have access when required via Lamington Ave only. There is NO vehicle access via Hampden St onto Hopetoun St.
- There will be no bus diversions on this day
