A Fashionable Close to the Ladbrokes Spring Racing Carnival
4 November 2024
Vibrant colour and dazzling glamour will bring a fashionable
close to the 2024 Ladbrokes Spring Racing Carnival, thanks to a record-breaking
Fashions on the Field prize pool on offer at Canadian Club Melbourne Cup Raceday
– Tuesday 5 November.
The Fashion Queensland team led by Laura Churchill returns
to Eagle Farm Racecourse to celebrate the much-loved competition of
self-expression through fashion.
Lucky contestants stand a chance to walk away from the live
fashions event with a prize purse of jewellery, fashion accessories, health and
beauty packages, gift vouchers and more from some of their favourite brands and
businesses: Artisans Bespoke Jewellers, Epic Hair Designs, Libertine
Parfumerie, Arete Dental Studio, Kathron Dry Cleaners, Louenhide, Mellow, Ford
Millinery, Jimena Alejandra, and Fashion Queensland (full prize list
available at brc.com.au).
Thanks to the generosity of Brisbane Racing Club’s Fashions
on the Field prize partners, the total prize pool stands at a generous $11,000
– to be awarded across the top three public contestants and best dressed BRC
Member.
Contestants will enjoy the experience of walking the fashion
runway and presenting their exceptional outfits to the crowd and an expert
panel of judges. The BRC is excited to be joined by Brendon Mann (Epic Hair),
Tammy Keers (Artisans Bespoke Jewellers), and Heidi Bailey (Louenhide).
Brisbane Racing Club is equally delighted to welcome Katrina
Blowers (Channel 7) as the competition’s MC.
The judges have revealed their pieces of fashion advice that
are often overlooked.
Brendon Mann (Epic Hair)
“Many overlook comfort and practicality when
planning their outfits. Racedays are long, and if you’re not comfortable, it
shows. It’s essential to consider not only style but also how you'll feel in
the outfit throughout the day. Shoes are a big one here—choose something that
won’t have you looking for a seat within an hour!”
Tammy Keers (Artisans Bespoke Jewellers)
“Do not overlook the power that accessories can bring to
your Raceday outfit, whether that is a pair of white gloves, a vintage pocket
watch or a suite of bespoke jewellery that help to elevate your look.”
Heidi Bailey (Louenhide)
“I feel going too far with the whole look for the raceday
can be problematic. Sometimes less is more.”
This fun, inclusive spectacle of creativity is the perfect
way to celebrate the energy of the racing season.
Entries are open to all Canadian Club Melbourne Cup Raceday
ticketholders.
