NEW DIRECTORS APPOINTED TO BRISBANE RACING CLUB BOARD

The Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kate Davies and Michael Pearson to the Board of Directors, effective immediately.
Kate brings a wealth of experience in governance, public administration, policy development, and sports administration. As the CEO of Netball Queensland, she has demonstrated a history of exceptional leadership and strategic insight.
Michael is an experienced senior executive, general counsel, and company secretary boasting a resume that spans all facets of corporate, legal and commercial operations for a number of listed international companies. He possesses extensive governance expertise, and his experience in property and asset management, particularly with Brisbane-based companies such as ALS Limited and Cardno Limited, adds valuable depth to the Board.
Both are passionate thoroughbred racing fans and are regulars at BRC race days.
The response to the process to fill the Board vacancies was outstanding, with a host of highly accomplished members submitting expressions of interest. The calibre of applicants was exceptional, reinforcing the depth of talent within our membership. We sincerely thank all those who stepped forward and expressed their passion for the Club’s future.
To ensure a rigorous selection process, the Club engaged corporate governance specialists Directors Australia, who previously conducted a Board evaluation to identify the most valuable skill sets for these appointments.
We encourage members to introduce themselves to Kate and Michael as we head into our Autumn racing season at Eagle Farm and Doomben and of course The Star Stradbroke Season in May.
