Opera stars Xenia Puzkarz Thomas and Sofia Troncoso and a stellar line up of musicians return to the Brisbane Racing Club on January 22 for another evening of music with a difference.
Xenia, an internationally acclaimed young star, wowed audiences at a concert of brilliant operatic entertainment in October, and due to popular demand a second performance has been added to the list of must-do events in 2021.
American soprano Sofia will join Xenia for a series of duets, treating guests to her unique style which has been crafted from her performance history around the world including London, Scotland and China.
Under the starry summer night sky on the Members Lawn, be ready to experience an extravagant theatrical experience of storytelling through song.
This evening is crafted for everyone - whether you are an avid fan or new to the world of opera, experience classic and contemporary arias of love, betrayal and merriment! There will be songs by renowned composers including Mozart, Puccini and Rossini, as well as renditions of jazz favourites!
In an alfresco theatre-style setting with views of the stage and starry night, you will be treated to a gourmet two course dinner of ocean trout, roasted duck and slow cooked beef accompanied by Chandon, premium red and white wines and more.

- Premium two-course alternate drop dinner featuring a cured ocean trout entree followed by roasted duck or double bone lamb cutlet (alternate drop)
- Three hour beverage package including Chandon sparkling, Australian red and white wines, local and international beers, cider and soft drink (6:30pm - 9:30pm)

Xenia Puskarz Thomas
Brisbane-born mezzo-soprano Xenia Puskarz Thomas is a Kovner Fellow at The Juilliard School, New York under Professor Edith Wiens.
Xenia was awarded a Bachelor of Music from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University in 2018 with first class honours and the University Medal for Academic Achievement. In 2019, Xenia was a scholar of the Melba Opera Trust program supported by the Amelia Joscelyne Scholarship and studied with teachers from the Metropolitan Opera House and The Juilliard School as part of the prestigious Opera Foundation for young Australians’ Lady Fairfax New York Scholarship that she won in 2018.
Sofia Troncoso
American soprano Sofia Troncoso is an accomplished singer in styles spanning from classic to contemporary, and especially accomplished interpreter of Mozart. She has been heralded as a bright and charming performer.
She will join mezzo-soprano Xenia Puskarz Thomas for a series of duets at this unique alfresco dining event set under the starry night sky.
Sofia is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, the National Opera Studio in London, and was recently an Emerging Artist for Scottish Opera. She has sung in concert with the RSNO, Xi’an Symphony Orchestra and most recently alongside Camerata for Musica Viva in QPAC Concert Hall.
